How to Install Firefox 6 in Ubuntu

A new version of firefox has arrived. Firefox 6. It’s very easy to install it in Ubuntu

1. First download firefox for Linux from the Firefox web site www.getfirefox.com/

2. Then get a terminal and untar the file using following command
tar xvjf firefox.tar.bz2

3. Rename the firefox folder to firefox6
mv firefox firefox6

4. Copy the firefox6 file to /usr/share/ folder
sudo cp -r firefox6 /usr/share

5. Create a link to firefox
sudo rm /usr/bin firefox
sudo ln -s /usr/share/firefox6/firefox /user/bin/firefox

That’s it. You have the new version of firefox now

Yes you are right Sameera, but If you need the latest version you need to download and install like this. I think now Firefox 8 has arrived. so you can install it like this
